Yep, that's Christilynn {a true southern girl has to have two first names}. I am working momma of 4 “Blessings”, with huge crushes on anything chippy, rusty and ruffles. The House of Blessings empire was created out of a passion for cultivating home, and a little bank account.
A place where imperfection is perfect!

Hello...My name is Priscilla Magdaleno
I can say that my first "crafting experience" was when I was a little girl. My grandmother would let me take the scraps of fabrics from whatever she was making for me or my mom.
She never "taught" me as much as she let me do what I wanted and offered advice. She was very artistic and I think looking back she was a pioneer in ALTERED ART.
From her and my father I learned how to take used objects and re-do them into something new. I come from grandparents and my father who were creative. I think my dad would have done great in the area of STEAM PUNK..he loves making fun things out of junk pieces.
As a little girl I had Polio and couldn't run around to much so our local grocer would save me the cardboard selves from the candy boxes and would bring them to me with a candy bar and crayons.
And I'm not sure about any of you..but Caption Kangaroo made me crazy when he brought out the SHOE BOX with all the craft supplies..my mom said a atom bomb could have blown up outside but I was mesmerized by that "magic box".The sound of the scissors cutting through the construction paper was total MAGIC to me. Across the street from the elementary school I went to was MARIE'S PARTY PALACE. My "first " craft store. It's still there but now its for cake-candy supplies. I still go in there and can always find something to use in my art..
I have always "crafted" from wedding bouquets made of satin rosebuds my grandmother taught me to make to where I am now in Altered Art.
I moved about a year and a half ago to care for my parents and I'm in my childhood room..I knew the only things I needed was my bed..a small dresser and my craft supplies...They are my salvation and escape.
I am so thankful to my Lord for the talent he gave me.
May we never stop being artistic!!
Priscilla
